It didn't really occur to me how living in a third world country, the girls are not exposed to things that most of us take for granted in more modern societies. There are a few things and places that just don't exist where we live so the girls have no idea what they are. One of these places is McDonald's. Before we left our country, a friend or ours asked Aubrie, "Are you going to go to Thailand and eat at McDonald's?" She just looked at him so confused and asked, "At his farm?" To her, all she knows is that Old McDonald had a farm, so if we were going to eat at McDonald's, he must mean his farm.
Well now that we have been in Thailand a couple of weeks, she has learned that McDonald's is not a farm and actually a fun place to eat with toys and yummy french fries and chicken nuggets. Yesterday, we were at the mall and got the girls a couple of Happy Meals and as we were sitting and eating, Aubrie noticed a picture of Ronald McDonald on her Happy Meal bag. She asked, "Mommy, is that Old McDonald?" So she is still a little confused, but she hasn't yet asked where all the animals are.
Here are a few pictures of our little cuties enjoying their Happy meals.
